Community creatives will exhibit their wares for sale. Gabe with Bayside Fire will return to refurbish old fire extinguishers or sell new ones.
Attendees will have a chance to win exciting prizes in a pickle jar drawing. Check back for descriptions of some of those prizes.
Delicious goodies will include chicken and veggie kebabs, home-made baked goods, gourmet hot dogs grilled by the cub scouts and lemonade.
How will Julie pull all this together? With a lot of help from her friends. If you can volunteer for a 90-minute shift, you’ll get a free pickle jar entry and the rest of the day to enjoy all the festivities. Visit the signup site or contact volunteer coordinator Karen Tischler.
ABOUT THE EVENT: Day in the Park is a semi-annual free community event/fundraiser hosted by the Sausalito Floating Homes Association (FHA). The festival-like environment, draws 400+ people, offers live entertainment by our talented floating homes performers and includes fun activities for the kids, and a pet parade & costume contest for our fur babies. Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase stunning art by our very own floating homes artists, and interesting books written by our incredibly creative authors. We will also have a sponsor area, called the Houseboat Living Fair. The Houseboat Living Fair will feature speakers and demonstration about houseboat related jobs, products and services, as well as a Houseboat, Genius Bar panel, sponsor tables, music, and storytelling.
FHA Marketing/PR Chair Julie Durbin has assembled a team of 12 volunteers to begin planning for a free FHA Day in the Park on Sunday, May 19. She is in need of help rounding up sponsors; if that’s something you’d like to do, contact Julie.
