A Toast to Sausalito
Presented by the City of Sausalito's Parks and Recreation Department, Sausalito Chamber of Commerce, Bay Cities Refuse, Marin Magazine and the Pacific Sun. This inaugural Toast to Sausalito, features a Beer, Wine, & Spirits Festival, multiple artist competitions, local vendors and merchants, musical acts, and an interactive stage with an eclectic variety of performances.

To register to pour beverage samples (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) click HERE. There is no cost to participate. Wristband holders will receive a cup for unlimited tastings during the event.

To register as a merchant, art vendor, maker, or non-profit booth click HERE. To sell goods/services, there is a $50 fee. A tent, table, chairs can be rented for an additional fee.

15 artists will be accepted to participate in the 3 different competitions (5 for each category). Artists selected to participate in the competition will have the opportunity to sell their work, market themselves and be provided with a meal ticket and drink wristband (must be 21+ for wristband).
These competitions are all about having FUN! Throughout the day there will be some twists and constraints that the artists will have to adhere to.
The categories:
1) Street Art Contest
Use side walk chalk and design a specified area-
*Prompt: Interactive Scenes

*Theme: Why I'm so happy; hang on to Hope; It is all an illusion (choose one or more)*
2) The Mixed Media Contest
Create a mixed media piece using 3 or more mediums, including recycled materials. This challenge can be any size or scale. Elicit audience participation to help build or construct your creation. Some supplies will be provided.-

3) A Scribble and a Splat Canvas Contest
Artists will have 3 hours to create 2 works of art on canvas. At the start of each 90 minute session 1 or 2 audience participants will be given the opportunity to scribble and splat paint on a blank canvas. Artists will then have to use that canvas to create their works choosing 1 of the given prompts. Some supplies will be provided.-

Please submit an example of your work and what mediums you have experience in to bvitale@sausalito.gov. A max of 15 artists will be chosen by September 15. Upon selection, artists and event organizers will discuss the 3 contests, prompts, themes, and constraints, and work out details that best support a successful competition. Contests will range from 3 - 8 hours.
If not selected to compete: A max of 50 artists are welcome to be vendors and create live art, sell their work, and participate in the 4 hour event. A booth fee will apply to the artist vendors. First come first serve, register here.
Event Set-up: (Shift: 9:30a - 12:30pm)Assist with load-in and festival set-up (tables, chairs, vendors setting up booths, etc). Must be able to stand, lift, and walk around comfortably.Event Break Down: (Shift: 4:30pm - 7:30pm)Assist with tear-down needs after the festival (tables, chairs, vendors setting up booths, etc). Must be able to stand, lift, and walk around comfortably.Beverage Pourer: (Shifts: 12:45pm - 3:45pm; 2:00pm - 5:00pm)Pour & serve in the Beverage Booths of the festival (Help vendors that have donated their beverages, but do not have staff representing / pouring)Kids Area: (Shifts: 12:00pm - 3:00pm; 3:00pm-6:00pm)The festival will host a variety of kid and family friendly activities (bounce house, face painting, interactive art experiences, chalk art, etc). Volunteers are needed to assist in various roles, set up and take down.Parking / Access Monitors: (Shifts: 8:30am -11:30am; 11:15am-2:15pm)Monitor festival access points and assist with load-out procedures for vendors at the festival.Happiness Patrol: (Shifts: 12:45pm - 2:45pm; 1:30pm - 3:30pm; 2:45pm-4:45pm)The eyes and ears of the event! Happiness Patrol volunteers will need to check in with vendors, provide visitors information and directions around the festival, and alert festival staff if there any issues.
