Spirit of Marin presented by Bank of Marin

The Sausalito Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce that James Gabbert has been nominated for the esteemed 2024 Spirit of Marin Award! A Stanford University graduate with a degree in electrical engineering, James founded KPEN-FM, which he transformed into K-101 in 1968, and later launched KOFY-TV.

 

Jim has dedicated his life to community service, from chairing the State of Emergency Communications Committee to leading efforts for California's Amber Bill, enhancing the state's ability to rescue abducted children.

 

In retirement, he has volunteered tirelessly in Sausalito, chairing the Sausalito Art Festival, founding the Sausalito on the Waterfront Foundation, and serving as Chair of the Sausalito Chamber of Commerce during the COVID-19 recovery. Currently, he chairs the Government Action Committee, working with the Mayor, city council members, the city manager, and city staff to help promote pro-business initiatives and create an equitable business environment.
