Opening of Shallow Anchors at Upstart Modern

Turning to the deep roots and longevity reflected in local flora, Shallow Anchors  establishes itself within the terroir of Sausalito, Marin, and the greater Bay Area. With an emphasis on trees, roots and branching out, this exhibition aims to emphasize the fortitude exemplified by redwoods while simultaneously celebrating the organic flexibility, connections, and whimsy found in California’s forests. Trees connect us to the Earth, from roots in the ground to the air we breathe.
